Dr. Atul Vashist is working as Young Scientist, SERB-DST, Govt of India, at Department of Biotechnology, AIIMS, New Delhi. His research focus is to gain mechanistic insights in mycobacterial dormancy and associated drug tolerance. He is also involved anti-tubercular drug development against replicating and dormant mycobacteria.

Dr. Atul Vashist has been awarded with prestigious Marie Sklodowska-Curie RESPIRE3 fellowship 2018 (2nd Call) to pursue research towards deciphering the molecular mechanisms of mycobacterial persistence using CRISPR - dCas9 technology.

RESPIRE3 is an international, inter-sectoral and inter-disciplinary programme providing Marie Skłodowska-Curie post-doctoral research fellowships to early stage scientists with the potential to become the leaders of tomorrow in the respiratory field.

This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Grant Agreement No 713406.
